Album is almost upon us…

Yes, Courtcase 2000 is out from all good record shops next week. It will also be available direct from us, here on this site and through facebook/myspace by next week too. Which’ll be nice!

If you want to see some nice reviews of it so far, let me point you in their directions:

The Fly use the words “gloriously experimental racket” and seem to enjoy us in comparison to our Manc counterparts. Boomkat describe us as “sloppy prog,” which is an awesome description. Whisper Mag compare us to milk and feral pets, and suggest it’s all quite theatrical in nature, which pleased me. Music OMH suggest our album is “is as exciting and mind expanding a record as any this year,” which made us very happy to hear.

We’re also starting to notice a pattern: that our album is making journalists on the internet and the printed fashion fall into a dramatic pit of floral metaphors, which is exactly what we were trying to do all along. So tick! What’s next on our list of accomplishments? Get on to Trevor Nelson’s show, of course.

A bit of our inlayThe Line of Best Fit suggest the album is filled with “schizophrenic prog-pop masterworks” and No Rip Cord write a really heartwarmingly positive review explaining that it does require a bit of effort but is worth it in the long run. A bit like true love? Actually, some would argue love doesn’t require effort all that much, it happens naturally, but I’m a bit more of a cynic on the issue. I think it’s part way miraculous and part way an upwards trek up a mountain. Wait a minute… now I’m doing a metaphor to explain a metaphor. That is lame. (Lame is okay, it’s a stagnant metaphor).

To go along with our release Artrocker magazine are doing an exclusive free download of a song called “The Curse of Jonah Brian” from our album. It’ll be available next week too, as far as I’m aware. They asked me to do some artwork for it too, so I through up a bit of a satanic pentagon/pentagram adventure party for it (click for a big version:

The Curse of Jonah Brian

So yeah, stay on the look out for that bad boy at Artrocker.com.
