This is the very first episode of Lorien’s Cookery Corner, where he will take you all around the globe, via the kitchen, via your hearts. First up is a delicious vegetarian delight which tastes awesome and is so easy to make you could do it with your hands glued to your head. Here’s what you will need t0 make Ian Brown Rice come true:

  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 medium onion
  • A generous pinch of chili flakes
  • Cumin seeds (two tablespoons)
  • Sunflower oil
  • Brown lentils (2 cups). (Soak if needed. Some lentils can kill you, don’t you know!)
  • 1 red chili
  • Thyme (2 generous pinches)
  • Brown rice (2 cups)
  • 4 Bay leaves
  • Yeast extract (1 large tea spoon)
  • Tomatoes (2 tins)
  • Generic Jamaican beer ( 1 can)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Follow the video recipe, and enjoy yourself some Ian Brown Rice.
