With this post I can declare our new site fully open. What started off as a weekend make-over and bug fix turned into a dramatic overhaul of the site, and then a huge row with my hosting company for being prize Yorkshire puddings, streamline.net, followed by a subsequent move to a new, spanky web hosting company. For anyone that is interested, streamline.net are almost as worse at customer service than BT, and if you ever have the displeasure of speaking to one of their operatives you’ll end up stabbing your eyes out and wishing the internet had never been invented.
If you are just about to start out with a website, avoid them like the plague. They have downtime and slowtime gallore, their email system is puny (mailboxes max out after 50mb) and erratic, they don’t allow mod_rewrites or any apache or php.info changes, and their technical support is basically a guy who doesn’t speak English following this guide:
Now that the site is housed in a lovely, friendly environment, we can be alive, so let’s go through what we have: There are comics, giving an intriguing insight into how our band practices, there is Lorien’s Cookery Show, where Lorien creates dishes for you, inspired by Manchester celebrities. There is music, both from us and our little side projects and things. And finally there is a shop, where you can use your money to get hold of our things.
I hope you enjoy our colourful new web place. Please feel free to give me comments for improvements, discoveries, links or what have you.
